Chicagoland's best Italian restaurant no doubt

Posted by DickFarrel on 6/16/2009

Sensational cuisine. Expertly prepared. The 10 years that the Zitos have owned this place, really shows in the presentation, preparation and quality. The homemade pasta dishes and the unique freshness of their seafood and poultry dishes is unmatched anywhere else in Chicagoland, Maybe even in North America. Whether or not they are Zagat rated is irrevelant, as a experienced restaurant consumer, I know they ought to be high on the list. Prices are more than reasonable. You'd expect to pay much more downtown. The dining room is warm, cozy and the aroma of the freshly prepared Italian delights caress your senses and stimulate your appetite. I highly recommend their daily specials and appetizer varieties. Save room for dessert. The Tiramisu is to fight for. (I would say die for, but then you wouldn't get to eat it).

Best Italian Food in Chicago - THE BEST SERVICE HANDS DOWN

If you're hungry for good no great Italian Food Giacomos is the restaurant to come to, the atmosphere, drinks, appetizers, main course and desserts are just unbelievablely delicious. Whether you're with family or celebrating a romantic evening you'll totally enjoy. I recommend it without a doubt. We drive approximately 20 miles to get there and it's worth the drive......

THE BEST restaurant anywhere hands down!

Giacomos is my favorite restaurant to go at anytime. The service is fabulous, the prices are reasonable, and the food is INCREDIBLE! I first started going here about 4 years ago and I keep coming back for more. I have had everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Even though it is an Italian restaurant, the steak that he serves is one of the best I have ever had. I love the parmesan cheese they have on the table to mix with olive oil and dip bread into. The homemade pasta is terrific (try the picky-packy sauce). All of the entrees make my mouth water. Try to save room for dessert. The tartuffo is not to be missed. I feel like part of the family every time I come here. The wait staff is very courteous and they always recommend an excellent wine. Anna is so friendly, and Chef Giacomo comes out of the kitchen (when he is not too busy) to greet everyone and see how they are doing. I live 35 miles away, and must pass about 100 Italian restaurants to come here, but I don?t mind the drive because I know I?m going to be getting the best! I even had Giacomos cater my wedding and everyone was raving over how delicious everything was. I can?t say enough about this place other than if you don?t try it, you are truly missing out.

The Pollo Di Anna is awesome.

I went on a Tuesday night, later in the evening (8:30 p.m.). No wait, but I think I caught the last of the food. Salad was wilted and dressing was watered down. Meat stuffed mushrooms seemed to need a little more cooking time to be done. But the main course was awesome. The Pollo Di Anna was an interesting twist on the old standard Chicken Parmesan. Highly suggest this dish... ...but you may want to go on a night where it is a little more crowded to avoid sub-par starters.

WOW the best italian!

I went for the first time a few days ago and found out that this is by far MY FAVORITE italian restuarant. There was NO wait and the staff was extremely friendly and curtious. The waiter suggested a wine that i found myself craving for days afterwards and went extremely well with our five course dinner. Walked out with so much food to take home and a very very reasonable bill. Their food is fresh and has an authentic home made italian quality came out to the table PIPING hottt!!! Everything that was brought to our table was more delicious than the next....i highly recommend this place. The sign outside of the restaurant is very true, it IS "the way restaurants use to be".!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!! Dont wait and just GOOO!!!! YOU MUST TRY THE LASAGNA! LIKE NOTHING YOUVE EVER HAD! EVER!!!!!
